What Really Matters!

I am not judging anyone but MYSELF, but I am just wondering how life would be if I put as much time and effort into studying gospel related books as much as the Twilight series?? I have been anticipating this 4th book for months, craving a good read. Now don't get me wrong, I think that these books have a place, but I know my life would be bettered if I spent as much time and energy studying the scriptures as I did reading these silly books or watching my favorite tv show. Okay I'm off of my soap box now!

IT'S ALL OVER?!?!

Well, today it's officially over...the summer that is! Most parents look forward to sending their kids back to school, and I admit I don't mind the time with less kids, but there is something about the summer ending that I don't love! Our summer has FLOWN by and it has been packed with lots of fun, but I don't want it to end. It represents my kids growing up and I don't love that either. I sent Braden to 2nd grade and Mitchell to Kindergarten today. They were soooo excited. I got Braden a new watch and he hasn't let 10 minutes go by without telling us the time. He was the first one up this morning and did everything according to schedule. Mitchell has been asking me every few minutes what time he gets to go. I love that they are excited.

Barton Family Reunion

I FORGOT THAT I LOVE CAMPING!

It's been a while since I've been camping, but I really enjoyed camping this last weekend at the Barton family reunion. There was a really good turn out and it was super fun catching up.

You should have seen my kids, you would have thought that I had just released them into heaven! They loved EVERYTHING about camping. Braden caught a lizard and spent the rest of the reunion teasing his cousins with it. He even slept with it in his sleeping bag (good thing I didn't know, or I would have lost it.) It rained a bit everyday and the muddy rain water collected on the chairs. I thought it was funny that Camden asked me how come there was "hot chocolate" on our chairs. We had two "holey board" tournaments, it's kind of like horshoes, and ring toss combined, it is fun because they let all ages play and it got many involved. We had races and a dessert buffet and it was just Fabulous. Speakin of food, Food always tastes better when you are camping, and I loved sampling aka mooching off all of my sweet Aunts and Uncles good food. This reunion happens every year and I am really looking forward to next year.

WIRIG FAMILY ROUND UP!

Family Reunion #2 is in the books. It was a blast and I did find time to enjoy myself in the midst of making sure it all happened as planned. We were missing some awesome families, but we sure had fun with the crew that came. We spent Friday night eating, swimming, and paying tribute to Grandma Bessie and Grandpa Frank. Saturday we split the girls and boys. The boys went shooting and the girls made specialty drinks, visited, and got mini massages from a professional it was a blast. Saturday afternoon was games, pony rides, and a huge inflatable slide in Grandma's back yard. We had cotton candy, sno-cones and FUN! Saturday night we had a huge dinner, a hilarious talent show and the night owls even did karaoke. Soooo Fun! On Sunday morning we had awards, and a mini devotional out at the American Fork Ampitheater and allowed people to share their thoughts on the importance of family. I thought it was good to end the fun weekend remembering what is really important, and remembering who blessed us with all that we have. I can't wait until the next reunion in 2010. I am just glad I'm not going to be in charge!
