DISCLAIMER...THIS WAS WRITTEN FOR ME! NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE PLEASE! I love you all!I attended a meeting this last week with a group of women whom I really respect. They are accomplished and beautiful, one of the women was expecting and when the conversation turned to child birth I was surprised to hear them all talking about surgeries that would prevent them from ever having another baby! I started getting a little uncomfortable, because I have 4 children and not one of the ladies at the table had more than 3 children. I'm sure they weren't judging me, but they either think I'm a hero... or crazy (I've been called both)to have that many children and to not be done.
I am also surprised every time someone assumes that I am done having children now that I have "my girl"!
I know that there is no magic quota...or the "right" amount of children, but I often see in the world an attitude of if you bring too many children into the world, than you can't take care of them properly, and you are doing a dis-service to your children. This may be partly true, but I have to go by experience, and some of the people I love the VERY most come from HUGE families. They don't seem to be too messed up and there is a lot of love. I can't be doing too much damage to keep having kids right?
Now, I am only speaking from my own experience, but anyone who has more than 1 child knows that when you are going to have your 2nd baby, you get scared thinking that you won't love the new baby as much as your first. BUT you are always pleasantly surprised to find that another whole section of your heart opens up and your joy multiplies. I want to have a big heart!
I know it is a lot of DARN HARD WORK and I know I'm crazy...but I feel extremely blessed to have Joy x 4 in our house, and I am looking forward to more hard work and JOY coming our way! (In the future! This is by no means an announcement.)
Now I better go and get my wild kids who are running down the street outside. Ha Ha!
