The Ten Leprechauns

Any indication that my parenting efforts are working on my kids feels great! Even if it is a little skewed. I have been dilligently trying to teach scripture stories to the kids, and this morning we read and then we were talking about keeping our bodies clean and healthy. My 5 year old Mitchell says " Oh yeah like the 10 leprechauns." I said, "What about leprechauns?" and he said, "You know...when the 10 leprechauns aren't feeling very good and so they come to Jesus to be healed and he tells the little guys to go clean themselves and then only 1 good leprechaun comes back to tell Jesus thank you!" I immediately started to laugh, and said "that's mostly right hun, but it's 10 lepers not leprechauns" and Mitch says "oh yeah, right, lepers!" Even with the mistake I was proud.
Leprechauns seem more interesting though right???

Coyote Fight in My Front Yard!

WARNING THIS IS A BIT YUCKY!!!

Okay so if any of you know Stu at all, you know that his favorite thing to talk about is coyote hunting. Our brother-in-law, Dallin introduced him to it and he has had it on the brain for years. Well, I have seen coyotes around our house late at night, and have mentioned this to Stu several times. His dream come true would be to shoot a coyote from the front yard. Well, his dream came true...Sort Of! Well at least it could have.

Last night (or should I say early morning) there apparently was a coyote/dog fight in our front yard. It woke all the neighbors and after a while of loud yelping and barking our neighbor Josh (a member of the SWAT team and PD) came out in his undies and shot one of the coyotes. He thought he missed because all the dogs ran away. It hurt his pride a bit since he is supposedly a really great shot. Now, You may be wondering why Stu didn't take a shot to fulfill his dream...Well that's because the SQUIRES WERE SLEEPING. Not one person in our family even stirred. You would think wild animals and gun shots would get us to rise but NOPE. Stu was sooo mad that the neighbors didn't call him.

This evening however, Stu was talking to our neighbor about the incident, and they were trying to follow the blood trail to find the coyote when Stu spotted the dead critter about 150 yards away. He said he noticed the "fur blowing in the breeze"! Our neighbor was again proud of his shooting abilities, and Stu was proud of his "Eagle Eyes" as he calls them. We all went and took pictures and you can imagine how interesting a dead animal is to my three young boys! I know it's a bit gruesome, but we all thought it to be pretty funny.

Road Runners Game

I bet you didn't know that St. George had a baseball team...welp we do! Our friends invited us to go to the last game of the season and to stay for the fireworks. It was quite an experience. 9 innings is LONG when you are chasing 4 kids. (7 kids if you count our friends children too) The boys had a blast thinking they were going to catch a fly ball. We didn't quite make it to the fireworks though. The game was just tooo long. We loved hanging with our friends and enjoying St. George Summer evening weather.

Stu and "Joss the Boss" (notice that her foot is wrapped? She sprained it this week. Poor baby!)

Our friends "The Stones"! Aren't they a handsome couple?
I don't have any pictures of the boys 'cause they were too busy running around to sit still enough to take pictures. Oh Well.

Messes...My Favorite!

It's amazing what a 15 month old can do 5 feet away from me without me even noticing. Can I just say how much I love cleaning up messes. MESSES MESSES MESSES. I would be devastated if a day went by without some large/weird mess to clean up. It defines who I am and I am sure I wouldn't know what to do with my time. I love goo, crusty, stinky, chunky, powdery, slippery, multi-colored and greasy messes. It is a BLAST!
At least she is looking like she's having fun!
